Throughout the whole book the monsters keep their terrible teeth, yellow eyes and claws. In example the book talks about the monsters having yellow eyes, claws and terrible teeth. The illustrations demonstrate the text of this book marvelously. This book has etched pictures in color and the way the monsters are drawn make them look fierce, weird and out-of-worldly. Illustrations: The Illustrations in “Where the Wild Things Are” are beautiful.Eventually he grows lonely and misses his mother and comes back to room where he finds a hot supper waiting for him. In his time with the wild things he plays and has fun and even punishes them the way his mother did to him. During the time he was in his room he fell asleep (adults will assume this, children may pick this up during the end of the story) and drifted into the land of the wild things. One night his ruckus caused his mother to send him up to his room. Plot: Max causes ruckus whenever he wears his wolf suit.Children who are afraid of the monsters may not like them as where adventurous kids might relate more to Max. The monsters may not be believable but they may stimulate a child’s mind in either a positive or negative way. Also Max likes to have fun and is very charismatic-he becomes the King of the Wild Things- and orders the monsters around. A child may be able to relate to Max if they were sent on time-out to their room. His mischief led to him being sent to his room where he drifts off into the world of wild things. Character: The main character is a boy named Max who was very mischievous.The only literary technique used in this book was the technique of personification. There are no hard words so children in Kindergarten would be able to read this book. Style and Language: This book is a very easy book for children to read.This book also became a motion picture in 2009 and an Opera production in which Sendak named his monsters.
